Apartheid - Induction into Hate

Today 6 Eyewitness Palestine Delegates returned to the Tent of Nations Farm to work in the olive fields! We worked on a terrace of olive trees overlooking a lush and immense valley of trees and stones.

Below us was a settlement school with the sounds of Israeli children learning, laughing, and playing. Their sounds are no different from those of the Palestinian children playing in the streets of the Palestinian villages we visited. And as we worked I wondered about the absurdity of hate, conflict, and war. What we have seen with our own eyes is an apartheid system being carefully implemented and cemented with concrete walls, separating not only Israelis and Palestinians, but also Palestinians from Palestinians.

We have seen destroyed houses and villages, climbed the barricade of rocks to get to the Tent of Nations farm, witnessed the checkpoints, and the apartheid roads. How dare Israel justify its blatant system of apartheid in the name of anyone??? Children learn from what they see and these conditions are insuring a generation of children inducted into hate by the actions around them!!!
