The Same God

Pilgrims flock from all over the world
to this holy city in this holy land,
to walk with their savior walked,
to pray where their prophet prayed,
to live where their people live.

Shopkeepers try to tempt them
with souvenirs made in China,
as if the site of sale
somehow makes things more sacred.

“Free Palestine” t-shirts are sold
directly alongside IDF propaganda,
proving that we do indeed
all worship the same god.
