Throughout the month of December we held Virtual Delegations to visit Bethlehem with our co-sponsors, Friends of Sabeel North America!
As many know, the town of Bethlehem is home to one of the oldest churches in the world, the Church of the Nativity, which has been continuously used as a church since 325 AD. What some don't know that Bethlehem is a Palestinian town that was initially established to connect 2 older towns, Jerusalem in the North and Hebron to the south, and it has been continuously inhabited for nearly 4000 years.
This virtual tour will take us to some old parts of the city and will highlight the impact of the state of Israel on the city since 1967.
Baha Hilo is Palestinian, born and raised in the town of Bethlehem. He is a graduate of Birzeit University with a degree in Sociology. Since 2013, Baha has been focused on education about Palestine through an initiative called To Be There, where he coordinates different educational visits, working on explaining a so called “complicated reality” imposed upon the Palestinian people by the state of Israel, in an easy to understand way.
Don’t forget to register for our upcoming LIVE Virtual Delegations.
We offer new locations and topics every month!
