Touring the Old City

Touring the Old City today I struggled to take in the rich history of Jerusalem because of the constant reminder of the violent settler colonialism taking place.

Around every corner there were reminders that screamed Palestinians are not welcome in their own land. There were Israeli Occupation Forces around every corner, settlers walking around the city armed, illegal Israeli settlements with Israeli flags waving in the wind, signs with Arabic crossed out only displaying words in Hebrew and English. Israel seeks to control every aspect of Palestinian life to further the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians for the establishment of a white supremacist state.
